Don't approach God FOOLISHLY

Posted on April 2, 2021 at 10:00 AM Comments comments (13)

Don't make the mistake of approaching God with a bad attitude and with the wrong motive. God is not your homeboy and He is not a figure of your imagination. God is a consuming Spirit with all power. When you approach Him, humble yourself, do it in the Name of His Son Jesus Christ. Sometimes we do things that we don't understand. As I studied the book of Job, I found out that no matter what be sincere about what you say to God. Job was a man of great substance and the bible says that he lost it all in one day. But he never charged God foolishly. In the bible, Job 1:21 "And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord." After Job lost everything, verse 22 says, "In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly." Can you bless God when things are not going well in your life? You must understand that God does as it pleases Him. You can humble yourself and be blessed in the name of Jesus or you can miss out on what God has for you. Jesus taught men should always pray and not faint. And whatsoever we desire, ask in His name. We must believe in our hearts that God loves us and He can keep us from the destruction of the wicked one. Then God RESTORES you inwardly by the new birth in Christ and He gives you more substance than you ever had. Trust God, He is ABLE!

Try God! Give God a CHANCE

Posted on March 21, 2021 at 10:15 PM Comments comments (0)

Psalm 34:8 "O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him. "

Everyone remembers God in the time of trouble. When you try to work things out on your own, they sometimes get worst. When you can't handle it Let GO and Let God. God has all power to see you through whatever you are going through.

Our text encourages us to try God and see what will happen. There is a RESULTS for giving God a chance. You will experience the goodness of the Lord that you will never forget. Your experience with God becomes your testimony. Your life is your testimony. You can truly say that the love of God is the greatest of anything you ever tried. And the reward is being blessed for trusting God. We have learned to depend on God for our safety and for the things that are needed. As you trust God your relationship should grow to a fellowship.

Psalm 121:1 says "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help." When you look, make sure you 1. Look back and thank God for all of the great things He has done for you. 2. Look forward and trust God for making a way out of no way. Christ is our hope. 3. Look around and serve God. We go to church to worship God and depart to serve by being a witness. 4. Look within and find God. God is closer than we think, all we have to do is call upon His Holy and Righteous Name. He will hear you cry. Try God! Give Him a Chance.

Who is God to you?

Posted on February 11, 2021 at 1:30 AM Comments comments (1)

Do you know God for yourself? Your answer could determine the outcome of your future. Your concept of God and how you feel about Him will make a difference in how you see and do things. So many of us are guilty of standing on someone else's belief. Your faith in God is what you should believe. You must get to know God for yourself. You can develop a personal relationship and when you learn how to walk with God, it becomes a fellowship. To KNOW God is to KNOW PEACE, but when there is NO God, there is NO PEACE. "He that cometh to God must come by faith." You can not please God without faith. Then you must acknowledge God for who He is, the God of heaven and earth, the Maker and Creator of all things. He is the substance of life. Without God, nothing would exist. When anyone makes this kind of statement, you must be able to back it up. The bible says that God created man in His image, he didn't come evolution. Evolution is a theory of preformation. Charles Darwin was a Naturalist with no conscious mind of Spirituality. God spoke all things into existence by His Word and His Spirit. God was there before there was. It was God that said, "Let there be." and creation into existence. Don't get caught up in the big bang theory. Everything that God does has a big bang to it, even in your personal life. Can you imagine not having God in your life? From the beginning of time men have acknowledged God, men of renown such as Enoch, Abraham, Moses, and King David. God is not only awesome, kind, and loving, He should be feared. God's wrath is as great as His love. If you are an un-confessed sinner, you are the enemy of God. You must make a change, confess your sins and be born again, become a child of God. When you are born again you become a new man in Christ and all things are renewed. Not a rebirth, but a new birth! The old nature is still with you, but now you have become SPIRITUAL by the Seed of God. This is how we become the children of God. In the bible (KJV), Ephesians 4:22-24, "That you put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that you put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness." God is our Father in Christ and we must love Him with our all.

The Work of a Disciple

Posted on January 23, 2021 at 9:05 AM Comments comments (1)

St. Mark 16:15-16

There are three aspects of Christian Work.

Commission - You are CHOSEN

Mission - To go is your CHOICE

Power - Empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Jesus said, "You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you." The call of Christ is first to come To Him for SALVATION and then there is a call to Come AFTER Him for DISCIPLESHIP. After receiving salvation, we must heed the call to become a disciple. There is a REQUIREMENT for becoming a disciple. You must be born again and become SPIRITUAL to do the work. That's the QUALIFICATION for being COMMISSIONED. So many make the mistake of getting CERTIFIED without being QUALIFIED. There are many jobs that you may be qualified to do but, certification may not be attainable.

II. The MISSION is a CHOICE you can WORK or PLay. The workers must prepare through TRAINING and much PRAYER. The worker must WALK and WORSHIP and WORK by FAITH. HOPE is the KEY because there is a sense of URGENCY. People need the Word of God to become saved. All of those who choose to play can not overcome the pleasure of sin. The player's MISSION is motivated by INSELFILIDUS, SELFISHNESS and GREED is the Players' downfall. PLAYERS, be AWARE! When you play on the devil's playground, you play for fun but the devil plays for keeps. Players often find themselves in trouble when they are disobedient to the will of God. The player does not realize that in the game, He got to PAY to STAY. After a beat down, the player realizes that the game is to be sold and not told. A singer named Joe pinned a song titled "I don't want to be a player no more." There are three types of people in the game, WINNERS, LOSERS, and CHEATERS. Remember, winners never CHEAT and cheaters never WIN. Life in the game can break your spirit.

III. The Worker needs the POWER of the Holy Spirit to do the work of the Lord. When workers are not committed to the MISSION, people suffer in a world of darkness. The and the RESULTS belong to God. Don't worry about the outcome. Do the work of an Evangelist and souls will be saved.

The Gift that keeps on GIVING

Posted on January 5, 2021 at 10:10 PM Comments comments (0)

Did you ever like something so much till you couldn't get enough? It seems that no matter how much love you get, it's never enough. I have found out that sacrificial love is the greatest of all. When you give from your heart to someone who's undeserving, it is rewarding. In life, we are all seekers for something; that one thing is love. Nothing can take the place of unconditional love. God has shown great love and compassion toward mankind. In that, He has given the greatest GIFT of all. It's the gift that keeps on giving. God sent His Son Jesus Christ into the world to be a Savior and a Light in a world of darkness. When you give, do you expect something in return? Giving is the foundation of forgiving. We want to receive forgiveness, but it is hard to forgive. The Word of God teaches us to forgive so that we will receive forgiveness. Then He leads me in the path of righteousness for His namesake. The gift would not keep on giving without the forgiveness of sin. Salvation is free but it is in no wise cheep. Christ made the sacrifice for the world when He died for man's redemption. You can't beat God giving! Ask God for the gift of love and salvation and join the many believers who trust God.

Stand your Ground

Posted on December 5, 2020 at 9:55 PM Comments comments (3)

In the bible (KJV), I Corinthians 15:58, "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord." When the Word of God tells us to be steadfast and unmoveable, we are to take a stand. We want to stand for that which is right and at all cost. We must take a stand against sin and the destruction that it causes to our lives. Life is not perfect; active sin can cause a downfall. When we are unmoveable in our trust in God, the adversary is mad. We must trust God that our work is not in vain. Remember it's His work; we are His chosen vessels. Let us join God's army. We are preparing for spiritual warfare. First, we need to become soldiers of the Kingdom of God. We must put off the old nature and put on the new nature; which is the new birth. The new birth qualifies every believer to become a soldier; prayer and bible study get you ready for the task. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we can accomplish our goals. Ephesians 6: 13-17, read this text, and remember to move forward. You have the HELMENT of Salvation to protect your head. The SHEILD of Faith and the SWORD of the Spirit, which is the Word of God to fight with. Stand on the TRUTH, wearing your BREASTPLATE of RIGHTEOUSNESS. We have the victory in Christ Jesus.

The Power of SILENCE

Posted on November 20, 2020 at 8:10 PM Comments comments (0)

Knowing when to speak and when to keep quiet is priceless. So many people have paid the ultimate price for not keeping their mouths shut; they lost their lives. The power of life and death is in the tongue. In the bible, James chapter 3, says the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity and it defiles the whole body. 3:7-8 "For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of the things of the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man can tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison." Now my main point is the evil that rules in our lives. It's uncontrollable, the darkness makes a man weak and blind. A life filled with sin is a life that's out of control. Man can control a horse by putting a bit in its mouth. But can not exercise SELF-CONTROL. Then it says that the tongue is full of deadly poison, speaking about physical harm a FALSE WITNESS cause. People have died because of the lies someone told. Can you hold your peace while someone is lying on you? It is our human nature that causes our defense to kick in. The power of silence is not a sign of weakness. It is the beginning of self-control. The power of life and death is in the tongue; you can lie your way into hell or you can confess your sins and go to heaven.

Safe in the Lord's Hand

Posted on October 30, 2020 at 11:30 AM Comments comments (0)

In the time of a pandemic, we all want to be safe. We also encourage others to be safe. With danger on every side, we should be cautious of WHO we hang out with and WHERE we hang out. Sometimes we only get ONE CHANCE to make the best decision. The best decision is not always the RIGHT decision. When you make the right decision, you can rest. You don't have to worry about the outcome. In the bible, St. John 10:27-29, Jesus gives ASSURANCE to all believers that they are safe in God's Hand. We don't have to be fearful of the enemy; Because we have a COMFORTER, a LEADER, and a TEACHER in the person of the Holy Spirit. The bible teaches us that the Holy Spirit SEALS us in Christ until His return. You must first know that the Holy Spirit is God.

The Holy Spirit as a Comforter lets us know that we are never alone. Even in your darkest hour.

The Holy Spirit as a Leader leads us to Christ for Salvation. Christ is the only way.

The Holy Spirit as a Teacher teaches us the TRUTH and about RIGHTEOUSNESS. The safest place to be is in the Hand of God, where there is no power that can overtake God. Your soul is safe in the Hand of the Lord.

Are you ASKING God the RIGHT question?

Posted on October 16, 2020 at 1:20 PM Comments comments (0)

You shouldn't question God because He knows what's best for you, but it is alright to ask God a question. Are you asking God WHY when you should be asking God HOW? We often worry about things that we have no control over. Sometimes problems are more than we can handle. We have divine help that's available to all believers. Trusting God is first and foremost. Standing on FAITH is believing that God can perform what He said He would do. When trouble arises, ask God how to deal with it rather than ask why I have so much trouble. We must admit that sometimes we create our problems. All problems have a solution; you may not like the outcome. If you buy a car and you do not have a driver's permit, you just created a problem for yourself. We must learn to do first things first. Get a driver's license, then get a car. Life does not have to be complicated. Life becomes much easier when you are wrong, admit that you are wrong. Confession is good for the soul. Learn to talk with God rather than talking to God. Consistency and Confession get God's attention. When you pray, confess your sins, and be consistent in your request. God will show you how to be a conqueror in Christ the Lord. God is waiting to hear from you.
