When you feel helpless and you don’t know what to do, you should always turn to the Word of God. God has an answer to every problem that you will ever face. Goliath represents an obstacle that you must overcome and that obstacle is SIN. David knew that God would deliver him. As a young lad, David was chosen and anointed to be king of the Most High God. You must become a servant of God and be filled with the Spirit of God to meet the challenge. God will bless the work of your hands, if you trust Him. Every obstacle comes with a CHALLENGE. You should be reminded that your sin is a DAILY CHALLENGE. David went out to meet the Challenge of Goliath the champion of the Philistines, in the bible I Samuel 17:9, “If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants; but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.” Verse 32, “And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.” If you yield to sin you become a servant of sin. Sometimes you must prove that you can do the job. David had to persuade the King that he was QUALIFIED to prevail against the Champion. Verse 37, And David said moreover, The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the loin, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. “And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with you.” God was with David and he did prevail against the Champ and killed him. God has made a way for you to overcome the Champ (SIN) in your life. You must first have the desire to overcome the pleasure of sin. Then you must accept Jesus Christ, “God’s Champion” as your personal Savior. Because sin is a giant and it will defeat you every time. Christ became sin so that you could become free from sin. Because of sins’ power to destroy us, God did for us what we could not do for ourselves. II Corinthians 5:21, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” You can only overcome your sin by faith in Christ and the power of His Blood. Don’t forget that it is Christ and not you. If you forget you could face a greater challenge. Even as King David did; the king who had blessed him, became jealous and tried to kill him. We can overcome every challenge, when we CONFESS our sin, FORSAKE our sin and trust God. For it is Christ that give us the VICTORY…
